UNI Athletics debuts Panthers and Paws promotion at Women’s Basketball vs. Murray State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI Athletics is excited to introduce Panthers and Paws, a new promotion welcoming dogs inside the McLeod Center during the UNI women's basketball game against Murray State on Friday, January 23. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:00 p.m., giving fans and their four-legged companions the chance to experience a game day together in a unique and memorable way.
Panthers and Paws will be limited to 100 dogs, with 100 dog tickets available for purchase at $5 per dog. Dog tickets must be purchased either in person or over the phone through the UNI Athletics Ticket Office. Each dog must be accompanied by a handler who is 18 years or older, with a limit of one dog per owner, and the dog handler must also have a valid ticket to the game.Prior to entry, all dog owners will be required to sign a waiver before dogs can be allowed inside the McLeod Center.
Dogs will enter through the Southeast entrance and be permitted only in designated seating areas within the McLeod Center, including the wooden (south) bleachers and on the North Deck. A designated relief area will be available on the Southeast grass, allowing dogs a space to step outside as needed during the event.
Each dog ticket includes a UNI bandana and a pet waste container, which can be picked up at the game located on the North Deck. Communal water dishes will be available on the North Deck for all dogs in attendance as well. UNI Athletics reserves the right to ask any dog to leave the arena if necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of all fans and participants.
In addition to the Panthers and Paws experience, fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs throughout the game while cheering on the Panthers.
