UNI golf travels to SIUE Dolenc and Diane Thomason Invitational

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI women's team is set to compete in its fourth tournament of the fall season at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, coming off of an 11th-place finish at The Lady Clerico in Oklahoma. The Panther men's team is ready for action at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois for their third tournament of the season after a seventh-place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.Â
Both tournaments are scheduled for Sept. 29-30, as the women will be teeing off at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. This course sits at 6,437 yards and has a par of 72. The men's team will compete at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, which plays at 6,985 with a par of 71.Â
The first two rounds of the Diane Thomason Invitational on Monday will have an 8:30 AM CT shotgun start, and the third round on Tuesday will tee off at 8:30 AM CT. The Panther ladies will compete against a 16-team field, including Iowa, Montana State, Creighton, Southern Miss, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, St. Thomas, Drake, North Dakota State University, Northern Illinois, Nebraska Omaha, and South Dakota. Tee Times have yet to be announced.Â
On the men's side, the SIUE Dolenc Invitational will start on Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 AM CT. The UNI men will compete against a 17-team field, including SIUE, Belmont, Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Idaho, Lindenwood, Missouri State, Morehead State, Omaha, Southern Indiana, Southern Utah, Tennessee State, UT Martin, Weber State, Western Illinois, Wichita State. Tee Times have yet to be announced.Â
The UNI women's team is coming off an 11th-place finish out of 12 teams at The Lady Clerico. Leading the Panther ladies was Freshman Jane Petersen, who shot a score of 225 (+9) to finish in 28th place, while Hannah Graves shot 229 (+13) to place 37th. Greenlee Smock finished in 52nd place, shooting 238 (+22). McKenna Mallow finished in 55th place with a score of 241 (+25), and Addison Berg placed 58th with a final score of 245 (+29).Â
The UNI men's team is ready to compete after a seventh-place finish out of nine teams at the Zach Johnson Invitational. The Panther men were led by Calen Bishop, who finished in 10th place with a score of 216 (+3), while Nile Petersen placed 12th with a score of 217 (+4). Tanner Dinnebier finished in 22nd place with a score of 219 (+6). Drew Spooner and Davis Tripp both tied for 55th place, shooting 235 (+22). Cooper Hanson finished in 58th place, shooting a total score of 237 (+24).Â
