CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division I All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 season, with the whole Panther team, plus three individuals being recognized.
To be considered for the team honor, a program must post a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale with all varsity letter winners academic performance being listed. This year marks the fourth consecutive season and 12th overall that the Panther tennis team has received the team honor.
For individual recognition, student-athletes must record a GPA of at least 3.50 during the previous academic year. This year's individual honorees include Kim Zizek, Lorena Cardoso, and Darta Dalecka.
Balancing academic success with athletic achievement, seniors Cardoso, Dalecka, and Zizek played a key role in helping the Panthers earn their first MVC Team Tournament berth since 2022. UNI closed out the regular season with a 7-14 overall record and a 4-4 mark in conference play, securing the five-seed in the postseason tournament. Dalecka is earning her fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition while Cardoso and Zizek are earning their third and second respectively.
