UNI men’s basketball: Nine earn NABC Academic Awards

Panthers also earn team recognition for 2024-25 season.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Thursday announced its annual Team Excellence Awards and Honor Court recipients for the 2024-25 season, featuring eight members of the UNI men's basketball team.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher. Meanwhile, the NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student players who finished the 2024-25 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Members of the UNI men's basketball roster from 2024-25 to receive Honor Court recognition include Ben Schwieger, Chase Courbat, Hunter Jacobson, RJ Taylor, Trey Campbell, Tytan Anderson, Jacob Hutson, Cael Schmitt and Charlie Miller.
Northern Iowa as a team recorded a 3.37 GPA last season, marking the 12th consecutive year the Panthers have collectively notched a 3.00 average or higher.
