UNI softball picked up its second conference loss of the season in a 7-3 loss to Bradley.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI softball rounded out its three-game series with the Bradley Braves on Saturday, March 29 with a loss to the Braves. After putting up the first run, Bradley scored seven straight to take home a 7-3 victory in game three of the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers opened the matchup the same way they opened the last two matchups with a 1-2-3 inning from Bradley in the top of the first. UNI got on the board first with an RBI-single from Kylee Sanders which scored Skylar Benesh to give UNI an early 1-0 lead.

Bradley responded with seven straight runs to take a 7-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Addison McElrath belted her 10th home run of the season with Kylee Sanders on the base path to cut into the Bradley lead, but the Panther comeback came up short and the Braves took home a 7-3 victory in Cedar Falls.

Katy Olive was the lone Panther with multiple hits as the junior finished with two hits in three at-bats. McElrath led UNI with two RBIs as a result of her home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Anna Wischnowski recorded three strikeouts in her 3.2-inning relief effort.

UP NEXT

The Panthers remain in Cedar Falls for a midweek contest against the Drake Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 1 at Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex. First Pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
