CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI women's tennis team is set for another weekend of Missouri Valley Conference action, traveling to Illinois for a pair of matchups. The Panthers will take on Illinois State in Normal, Illinois on Saturday, March 29 before heading to Peoria, Illinois to face Bradley on Sunday.
UNI looks to bounce back after a competitive battle against Belmont last Saturday in Nashville, where they fell 5-2. The Panthers put up a strong fight, securing two singles victories and pushing multiple matches to tight finishes.
Andjela Raznatovic continued her standout play, delivering a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory. Kim Zizek showed resilience in a hard-fought three-set win, 4-6, 7-5, 10-6. Darta Dalecka also challenged her opponent in a match that went the distance before falling in a super tiebreaker.
In doubles play, all three Panther pairings battled in close matches but narrowly missed securing a win. Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso pushed their opponents to the limit before dropping a 7-6 decision. Zizek and Raznatovic fell just short in a 7-5 match, while Kanyanut Sudsaard and Abbie Peterson also fought hard in a 7-5 loss.
