UNI falls to Belmont 5-2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The UNI women's tennis team fought through several close matches but ultimately fell to Belmont, 5-2, on Saturday. The Panthers showcased their skill by picking up a pair of singles wins while pushing multiple matches to tight finishes.
In singles play, Andjela Raznatovic delivered an impressive performance, securing a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Libbie Hamilton. Kim Zizek faced a hard-fought three-set match against Hana Sokolovic ultimately winning, 4-6, 7-5, 10-6. Darta Dalecka also pushed her opponent to the limit, splitting the first two sets before dropping a super tiebreaker to Anastasiya Zholdakova, 6-4, 5-7, 10-3.
Lorena Cardoso, Kanyanut Sudsaard, and Abbie Peterson all competed hard in their matches but were unable to come away with victories. Cardoso fell to Viktoria Kliimand 6-3, 6-2, while Sudsaard was defeated by Aly Getty 6-1, 6-3. Peterson fought through a competitive match against Sarah McElrath before ultimately falling 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles play, all three Panther duos battled in close matches but narrowly missed securing a win. Dalecka and Cardoso took Belmont's top duo of Sokolovic and Kliimand to the wire but fell 7-6. Zizek and Raznatovic dropped a tight 7-5 contest to Zholdakova and McElrath, while Sudsaard and Peterson also came up short in a 7-5 battle against Hamilton and Getty.
