CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — After securing a hard-fought road victory last weekend, the UNI tennis team returns to action for its final non-conference home matchup of the season on Friday against the Omaha Mavericks on Friday. Competition is scheduled to begin with doubles play at 4 p.m. CT at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.
Northern Iowa is coming off a narrow 4-3 road win at Milwaukee, highlighted by key singles wins. Senior Darta Dalecka led the way with a three-set battle, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, with Andjela Raznatovic secured a straight-set victory, 6-3, 6-4 and Kanyanut Sudsaard dominated her match with a 6-0, 6-1 win. The Panthers also picked up a crucial point by default in the number six singles spot.
Omaha enters Friday's contest looking to test UNI's momentum, bringing depth in both singles and doubles play. The Panthers are looking to build on recent success and defend their home court before opening Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play next weekend at Belmont.
