Erica Peters earns MVC Diver of the Week recognition

ST. LOUIS — UNI's Erica Peters was named Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) Women's Diver of the Week, on Wednesday morning. This is the first weekly honor of Peters' career from the conference.

Peters, a junior from Ankeny, Iowa, placed second this past weekend in the one-meter boards with a score of 251.55 at the Omaha Diving Invite and fourth in the three-meter competition (257.15). She currently ranks fifth all-time in program history on the three-meter boards (275.10) and seventh in team history in one-meter competition (269.95).

In a meet earlier this season at Iowa State, Peters qualified for NCAA Diving Zones with a first-place finish in the one-meter competition, scoring a career-best score of 265.50

Peters joins Olivia Herron of Southern Illinois and UIC's Zoe Shields as the MVC's women's swimmer and freshman of the week. Henju Duevenhage and Jackson Miller of Miami-Ohio were named the conference's men's swimmer and diver of the week, with UIC's Patton Shaar earning men's freshman honors.

Peters and the Panthers return to action as they host the 2025 MVC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Feb. 26 through March 1 at the Waukee CSD Natatorium in Waukee, Iowa.
