Panther swim and dive to visit Normal for two-day dual against the Redbirds

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI swimming and diving returns to the road this weekend as they head to Normal, Illinois to take on the Illinois State Redbirds in its final dual meet of the 2025-26 season on Friday and Saturday at the Horton Pool.
Competition is set to begin on Friday afternoon with action starting at 3 p.m. CT and Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. CT. Live results can be found on Meet Mobile (swimming) and Dive Meets (diving).Â
The Panthers last competed this past weekend where they took on Iowa State and St. Thomas in a double dual for senior day. UNI split the dual where they came out on top against the Tommies with a final score of 206-94 and fell to the Cyclones 129-171.Â
Northern Iowa saw multiple Panthers top the podium including Elyse Brayton, Neriah Giedrys, Charlotte Sander and Abby Lear in the 200-yard medley relay posting a winning time of 1:45.73. Morgan Meyer saw success in the 200-yard freestyle where she topped the podium with a time of 1:53.45.Â
Lear showed her speed in the 50-yard freestyle where she posted a time of 23.78 to take first in the event, as Meyer continued her dominance in the 100-yard freestyle where she saw top prize with a time of 52.49. Nikki Walters showed out in the 100-yard butterfly as she notched the top spot with a time of 57.08 and UNI closed out the night with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the squad of Sander, Lear, Morgan Raether and Meyer swam a 1:35.26 to take the event.Â
Over in the diving well, one-meter action saw Avery Hogan take third-place with a score of 257.40 as Erica Peters secured seventh at 248.60, Trista Thompson in eighth (245.20) and Addison Bausman in ninth (206.25). Three-meter action saw Peters take second with a score of 283.30, a career-best score for the senior and third best in program history, earning qualification for the NCAA Diving Zones later this season. Hogan followed close behind in fourth (274.50), Bausman in seventh (247.40), and Thompson in ninth (245.35).Â
