Panthers look to pounce in weekend matchups against a trio of opponents

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI women's tennis team is set to host three matches this weekend at its home court, the Black Hawk Tennis Club, in Waterloo. The Panthers will take the court at 1p.m. Friday against Air Force, followed by a 1:30 p.m. Saturday matchup with Creighton, and will conclude the weekend at 2 p.m. Sunday against Gustavus.
The Panthers look to bounce back after a challenging road trip last weekend, where they faced Northern Illinois University (NIU) last Saturday and Eastern Illinois University (EIU) on Sunday.
Last Saturday, the UNI women's tennis team struggled to find its rhythm against NIU, falling 7-0. The Panthers battled in doubles but were unable to secure a win before NIU clinched the team point.
Against EIU last Sunday, the Panthers fell in a tight 4-3 decision despite the win in singles from Darta Dalecka (7-5, 6-3), Abbie Peterson, and Lasya Mylavarapu, who both won by forfeit. In doubles, Peterson and Mylavarapu secured the lone victory for UNI with a 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot.
