Panther women's golf opens October in Omaha

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Panther women's golf team returns to the links starting Monday morning in familiar territory in Omaha, Nebraska for the Big O Classic, hosted by Creighton University at Oak Hills Country Club.
UNI competed at the Big O Classic a year ago taking eighth place in a nine-team field with Anna Jensen taking home eighth place individually after notching a 75 (+2) in her first round of play. The Panthers will be competing in a 12-team field once again this year, including last season's team champion in Wichita State, who notched a total score of 926 (+50). Creighton's Eleanor Hudepohl took the individual title with a total score of 219 (E).
UNI will also be competing against the likes of Northern Colorado, Idaho State, Montana, Omaha, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Wichita State,Western Illinois, UTRGV and Missouri State. Oak Hills Country Club is set at a par-73 and measures at 6,088 yards.
The Panthers are coming off a strong third place team finish at The Velvet hosted by Murray State last week after notching a team score of 927. Anna Jensen led UNI with a fourth place finish after shooting 74 (+3) in the first two rounds of play.
Anna Nacos recorded her first top-ten finish of her career in a tie for fifth place with a 229 (+16), carding a career-best round of 74 (+3) in Monday's second round. Victoria Hualde placed eighth overall with a 231 (+18), shooting a career-best 73 (+2) in the second round.
Allison Nuss finished tied for 39th place after carding a 78 (+7) in round two, while McKenna Mallow, competing as an individual tied for 43rd, shooting 80 (+9) in the final two rounds of play. Addison Berg wrapped her second collegiate tournament in 53rd place, finishing with a final score of 252 (+39).
