UNI wrestling to close out dual schedule at Wisconsin

No. 13 UNI wrestling (7-4 / 5-3 Big 12) at No. 19 Wisconsin (7-8 / 1-7 Big Ten)
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI wrestling moved up in the national rankings and will cap off its dual competition at No. 19 Wisconsin.
No. 2 Parker Keckeisen is on an 11-match win streak and is the reigning Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his win last week over No. 4 Marcus Coleman of Iowa State. He is the second Panther to earn the honor this year. Cael Happel earned the team's first honor Nov. 22.
Keckeisen has won 21 of his last 22 matches in a streak that dates back to the 2022 NCAA championships. He has just four career losses to three different opponents: Aaron Brooks of Penn State, Trent Hidlay of NC State and Bernie Truax of Cal Poly. He has avenged losses to Truax, who has graduated, and Hidlay.
Panther fans are invited to UNI Alumni's pre-dual event at Jordan's Big 10 Pub just blocks from the UW Field House at 1330 Regent St. in Madison, Wisconsin. The free event is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Appetizers will be available while supplies last.
While there is no cost to attend, but organizers are requesting an RSVP (click here) to assist with planning.
Wisconsin won in the last meeting between the teams. Head coach Doug Schwab is 5-4 against Wisconsin and has never lost two consecutive duals to the Badgers.

Barnett is a two-time All-American. He was seventh last year and eighth in 2021 at the NCAA championships. He was runner-up at the 2022 Big Ten Championships.

LaMont moved up a weight class and transferred after qualifying for four NCAA championships with Utah Valley. He is a two-time Big 12 runner-up at 125 pounds and earned All-America honors with a fifth place finish in 2021.

Zargo is a sophomore coming off an NCAA at-large qualification in 2022.

Gomez was third at the 2019 Big 12 Championships competing for Iowa State. He transferred to UW for the 2022 season and won the Big Ten Championships and took fourth at the NCAAs. He won the 2022 Mexico Grand Prix at 70 kg.
Medor has jumped into the dual lineup for the last two matches.

Otto is the second Badger to jump in at the 174-pound slot. He has shared time in the dual lineup with James Rowley. Otto moved up a weight class since last year.

Hillger, a graduate student, is a three-time NCAA All-American and four-time qualifier. He was
eighth at the 2019 NCAA championships and sixth in 2021. He was seeded sixth in the uncontested 2020 championships.
Christensen is a senior. He took second at the 2021 Pan-Am Games in Greco Roman.
REMATCH: Gordon and Hillger met at the 2022 NCAA championships, and Hillger took that bout, 8-0 for a major decision win.
