CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI divers return to the pool this Saturday as the Panthers host their first-ever diving only home meet at 1 p.m. CT. Live results can be found online at Dive Meets.
Hosting athletes from both Coe College and the University of St. Thomas, this year's competition will consist of one and three-meter springboard diving, as well as a team diving event.
Northern Iowa is coming off of a stellar performance at the Hawkeye Diving Invitational two weeks ago in Iowa City where all six Panther divers recorded new collegiate best scores, including four who made posted marks on the program's top-ten all-time list.
Abby Hutchins opened competition with a collegiate best 255.70 in the one-meter in Iowa City, while Avery Hogan followed up with a 259.25, moving up to seventh all-time in program history. Erica Peters cracked the top-ten for the first time with a 254.15, with Trista Thompson beating her previous top score of 245.10 with a 249.40. Hannah Taylor also had a collegiate-best in one-meter competition, with a 227.30 and a 13th place overall finish in the meet.Â
On the three-meter springboard, Hogan and Peters both achieved major new career-best scores, with Hogan posting a 276.85 in the finals to move to fourth in school history. Peters scored 274.15 in the preliminary round, moving her into sixth overall in the UNI record book. Thompson finished ninth overall, (250.75), while Maddie Moran followed close behind in tenth (250.55). Â
