CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Returning home from a back-to-back meet weekend in Missouri and Waverly, UNI cross country team will head to central Illinois this Friday for the Bradley Pink Classic. Competition is slated to begin at 3 p.m. CT at the Newman Golf Course starting with the men's 8K. The women's 6K will follow at 3:45 p.m. CT.Â
ÂAt Missouri's Gans Creek Classic, the women's team finished in 12th place out of a 23-team field with junior Emma Hoins crossing the finish line in a time of 22:06 for a 39th place finish for the Panthers. Kate Crawford (22:15) and Ella Popenhagen (22:35) placed 46th and 65th place respectively in Missouri.Â
ÂThe men's team finished in 13th place out of a 20-team field. Caleb Shumaker led the Panther men with a time of 25:09 to clock in at 44th place, while Tyler Colvin and Carson Owens came in 48th and 54th on the 8K course.Â
ÂCompeting at Wartburg's Dan Huston Invite, Colin Lillie ran a season-best time of 27:24, shaving 45 seconds off his previous 8K time to finish in 67th place. Caleb Kass finished in 193rd place in a time of 29:36 on the course. For the women's team, Lauren Klein clocked in at 54th place in a time of 25:13, as Makenna Edwards finished in 61st place (25:21) for UNI.Â
