Panther women’s basketball announces 2023-24 MVC schedule

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI women's basketball will open its Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) schedule on the road and host ten league contests at home this year, as the league unveiled its 20-game schedule on Tuesday morning. Tip times for all scheduled games are yet to be announced.

The release of the MVC schedule completes UNI's 29-game regular season slate, which is scheduled to begin on Nov. 6 as the Panthers host Green Bay. The entire schedule can be found below.

UNI will open league play on Dec. 30 with a road trip to Springfield to take on Missouri State before hosting Evansville and Indiana State to open the new year. The Panthers will visit UIC (Jan. 12) and Valparaiso (Jan. 14), then return home to take on Murray State (Jan. 19) and Belmont (Jan. 21). UNI rounds out the month of January in central Illinois with road trips to Illinois State (Jan. 25) and Bradley (Jan. 27).

The Panthers will open its longest homestand of the conference schedule on February 2 against the reigning MVC Tournament champion and in-state rival Drake Bulldogs in a Friday night showdown at the McLeod Center. Illinois State (Feb. 8) and Bradley (Feb. 10) will make their return trips to Cedar Falls to close out the homestand.

After a southern swing to Belmont (Feb. 15) and Murray State (Feb. 17), the Panthers will play two of their final three games of the month at home, taking on Southern Illinois on Feb. 22, followed by a trip to Des Moines to face Drake (Feb. 25) and Valparaiso (Feb. 29).

Two of UNI's final three games of the regular season will take place on the road, as UNI closes out the home schedule hosting UIC on March 2, before heading to Indiana State (March 7) and Evansville (March 9).

The MVC Tournament, popularly known as Hoops In The Heartland, will return to Vibrant Arena in Moline, Illinois for a ninth consecutive season, March 14-17.
