SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - UNI men's golf is sitting in fourth place with a Panther in the top 10 after the first day at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate Invite.

Play was suspended for the day due to rain and thunderstorms with most players having 10-11 holes left to play in the second round. The tournament will be shortened to a 36-hole event, and the plan for tomorrow is to resume play at 8 a.m. tomorrow to complete the second round.

Griffin Parker led the UNI men in the first round, carding a 69 overall. Alex Pries was close behind his teammate with -1 and a first round 70. Pries finished the first day tied for ninth having completed just six holes in the second round before play was stopped.

Thomas Storbeck and Tommy Doyle both shot 71 on day 1, good enough for even par. Doyle was tied for 11th also through six holes in the second round.

Parker was tied for 20th having played an extra hole than his teammates. Through seven holes in the second round, he was shooting 100.

Storbeck was tied for 28th. Jack Moody rounded out the Panther golfers with a first round 79 and +11, tied for 78th overall.

Lucas Schuefler of Wichita State and Josh Turnock of Central Arkansas led the individual field at six under par and scores of 65.

The Panthers finished the first round in fourth place with a team total of 281 and three strokes under par. Oral Roberts led in the team category with a first round -11 and 273 overall.
