Panthers take 9th place as a team to close out fall schedule
HOLLISTER, Mo. – McKenna Mallow rounded out UNI's fall season with an impressive final round on Monday, finishing in a three-way tie for first place on the leaderboard.
The Panthers finished in 9th place in the 12-team field with a final score of 928. South Dakota claimed the team championship after carding a 905, one stroke ahead of second place Murray State.DAY THREE
Mallow shot a 69 (-3) in Wednesday's final round, setting a new career-best round with 7 total birdies. Mallow tied for first alongside Wichita State's Mackenzie Wilson and South Dakota's Akari Hayashi with a total score of 218.
Anna Jensen tied for 30th carding 74 (+3) for an overall total of 233, and also notched 6 birdies in her final round. Victoria Hualde Zúñiga tied for 46th, shooting an 83 (+11) for an overall total of 237.
Anna Nacos finished in a tie for 54th after carding an 80 (+8) in the third round for a total of 240, while Rylie Driskell placed 65th with a total of 255. Madison Humke, playing as an individual, placed 64th carding a total of 250.
DAY TWO
Mallow shot a 74 (+2) on her second day of play with three birdies and 11 pars, improving on her first round performance on Monday by one stroke. Hualde sat in a tie for 21st after notching a 77 (+5) this afternoon, while Jensen sat in tied for 48th carding an 80 (+8).
Humke shot 82 (+10) and shot par on 8 holes during her second round, as Driskell held control of 65th place shooting an 89 (+17).
DAY ONE
Mallow led UNI in the opening round after carding a 75 (+3) with back-to-back birdie shots on the front nine and sits in a tie for 6th place. Nacos and Haulde are both tied for 20th place after a first round score of 77 (+5). Nacos struggled early but rebounded with three birdies on the final four holes of the back nine, while Haudle sank a shot for birdie on the 9th hole.
Jensen sits tied for 30th after a score of 79 (+7) on Monday with two birdies, as Humke and Driskell are both even at 83 (+11) in a tie for 57th place.
The second round of competition tees off at 9:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning.
