CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI cross country heads to Peoria, Ill. this Friday afternoon as the Panthers compete in their final competition ahead of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships in two weeks.
Hosted by the Bradley University at the Newman Golf Course, the meet will begin with the women's 6K race split into two seperate flights (white and red), followed by the men's 8K in white and red flights.
The UNI women return to action after a 12th place finish at the Gan Creek Classic two weeks ago at Missouri. Kate Crawford led the Panthers finishing in 59th place with a time of 21:44, a 63-second improvement from her time on the same course in 2021. Emma Hoins secured a time of 21:53 to take 72nd place, followed closely by Sophia Jungling with a time of 22:09 in 89th place.Â
On the men's side, UNI took 17th place in Columbia in its last competition with Payton Marrs leading the Panther field in 75th place with a time of 24:55. Brady Griebel ran a 25:25 to finish in 118th place, shaving an impressive 2 minutes and 29 seconds off his time from the same meet a year earlier. Caleb Shumaker finished in 120th place for UNI, running a time of 25:27.
