
Panthers Shutout St. Ambrose

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - A strong defensive performance led the UNI women's soccer team to their second win of the season Friday afternoon.
The Panthers put up their third shutout of the year Friday against St. Ambrose winning 2-0. Forward Lauren Heinsch led the team offensively with both goals of the afternoon and having three shots in the game. Forward Ashley Harrington took 5 shots during the game, 2 of which ended up on goal, and had the lone assist of the game on Heinsch first goal at the 28 minute mark. Lily Caso and Morgan Barnette also had multiple shot performances on Friday.Â
Goalkeeper Caitlin Richards played a full 90 minutes for the Panthers and did not face a shot on goal throughout. The Fighting Bee's lone shot of the game came from defender Erin Smothers at the end of the 1st half.Â
The Panthers led the way as a team, not allowing any shots or corner kicks from St. Ambrose. UNI also had a season high game in shots, taking 21 shots throughout 90 minutes on Friday afternoon.Â

The Panthers get a day off before returning to the UNI Soccer Field on Sunday,September 5th for their game against South Dakota. Sunday's game is Senior Day and is set to begin at 1 p.mÂ
