
Carr, Fain Receive MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mentions

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – UNI tennis players Emma Carr and Olivia Fain were named to the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team for their efforts in the classroom and on the court during the 2021 season.
Carr, a sophomore psychology major, earned a 3.72 GPA and went 4-11 (0-5 MVC) on the No. 1 singles court this season. She posted three-set victories over Cardinal Stritch's Lisa Keller and Omaha's Madison Gallegos.
Fain, a junior biology major, maintained a 3.55 GPA and went 3-12 (0-5 MVC) during the regular season, primarily on the No. 5 singles court. She notched three-set wins over Cardinal Stritch's Aspasia Katsouda Taka and Omaha's Colby Kelly.
On the No. 1 doubles court, Carr/Fain went 3-12 (0-5 MVC), going on a three-match win streak from Feb. 27 to Mar. 5, posting wins over Washington U, SIU-Edwardsville, and Upper Iowa.
Nominees must have participated in at least 75% of the regular season contests or be projected to play in the MVC Tournament and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale. Student-athletes must have reached a sophomore status in both academic and athletic standing at their institution to be eligible.
