MANHEIM, Penn. – Four UNI Wrestlers were named to the 2021 National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American Team, released by the association Thursday. It is the second-most in program history.
Parker Keckeisen, Brody Teske, Kyle Biscoglia and Lance Runyon all earned honors. The award recognizes a combination of academic work and success on the mat.
Keckeisen finished the season with a 20-1 record and All-American status after earning a third-place finish at the NCAA Championship. He was the Big 12 champion at 184 and went undefeated until the national semifinals. His only loss was a 6-4 decision to eventual national champion Aaron Brooks. He carries a 3.37 GPA in construction management.
Teske ended the year with a 14-3 record, he won the Big 12 title at 125 and entered the NCAA Championship with a 12-1 record. He lost in the blood round, just missing All-American honors. Teske, a redshirt sophomore, carries a 3.2 in Liberal Studies.
Lance Runyon started the season with a 6-1 record before injuries slowed his season. He earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship before being forced to withdraw because of injuries. He carries a 3.4 GPA in Movement and Exercise Science.
Kyle Biscoglia went 7-3 on the season with two of his losses coming against NCAA qualifiers. Biscoglia carries a 3.97 GPA in Biology and Biochemistry.
Five Panthers earned the honor in 2007, the most ever for UNI. Three Panther wrestlers earned the honor five times, including last season.
