Bunch, Snider Earns MVC Weekly Honors

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has named Sammey Bunch MVC Player of the Week and Brooke Snider Newcomer of the Week.
Senior shortstop Sammey Bunch posted a 1.000 batting average and a 2.750 slugging percentage over three games against the Purple Aces of Evansville over the weekend. Bunch went 4-for-4 with two home runs, one double, and eight RBI's. Bunch scored nine runs, tagged eleven bases, and drew six walks in three games. In the second game of the Friday double header Bunch hit both home runs in back-to-back plate appearances in the same inning including one, four-run grand slam that sparked a UNI fifteen run inning.
Sophomore third baseman Brooke Snider went 5-for-10 posting a .500 batting average and 1.300 slugging percentage in three games against the Purple Aces of Evansville. Snider also recorded two home runs, two doubles, and seven RBI's. Snider scored five runs, and tagged a team high thirteen bases for the Panthers. Snider led the way for UNI in game two of Friday's double header going 3-for-3 including one home run and one double.

The Panthers are back in action on Wednesday, April 7 when they host the Cyclones of Iowa State at the Robinson Dresser Sports Complex. The game will begin at 3 pm and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
