Panther 4x200-meter Relay Team Earns Gold at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – UNI track and field posted a win in the women's 4x200-meter relay, seven top-five finishes, and two qualifiers for Saturday's relays at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday.
The women's 4x200-meter relay team of junior Rylan Santi, senior Allison Hilleman, junior Emily Vos, and senior Emily Paul posted a time of 1:39.20 to place first. Vos also placed fourth in the women's 200 meters with a time of 24.93.
The Panthers placed third with a time of 3:59.85 in the women's sprint medley and fourth with a time of 3:27.72 in the men's sprint medley. The Purple and Gold qualified for the women's 4x100-meter relay finals on Saturday after posting a time of 46.32 to place seventh in the prelims. The Panther men also qualified for Saturday's 4x100-meter relay final after clocking a time of 40.95 to place fifth in the prelims.
Graduate-student Darius King earned fourth place finishes in the men's shot put with a mark of 18.99m and men's discus with a personal-best toss of 53.70m. Fellow graduate-student Thomas Yezek placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 53.17m. Freshman Rylie Todd also garnered a fourth-place finish in the women's high jump with an outdoor personal-best mark of 1.68m.
Competition for the Panthers continues Saturday afternoon. The afternoon's field events will begin at 12:30 p.m. while action on the track will start at 1:15 p.m.
