The Panthers fall to the Redbirds

Normal, IL - The UNI soccer team traveled to Normal, Illinois Thursday evening to take on the Illinois State Redbirds. The Panthers win streak was snapped by the Redbirds.
Illinois State was able to net another goal in the 55th minute of play. This led to the Panthers falling 0-2 for their third loss in conference play. Caitlin Richards was able to grab another two saves in the second half.
The Panthers are now 2-3-2 on the season.

The Panthers will be back in action at home on March 28th at 1 pm against Valparaiso for a rematch.

"Credit to Illinois State, they were just a little bit better and won the game early in the 2nd half," said head coach Bruce Erickson. "We just have to be more clinical in front of goal and our ball winning has to make the difference."
The first half was a battle with both teams able to get off nine shots. The Redbirds were able to capitalize on one in the 16th minute of play. Caitlin Richards tallied two saves in the first half.Illinois State was able to net another goal in the 55th minute of play.
