Women's Basketball Take on Bradley in Opening Round of MVC Tournament

The women's basketball team claimed the No. 4 seed for the Missouri Valley Conference Hoops in the Heartland Tournament after a series sweep against Southern Illinois University.
•With the regular season completed, the Panthers have an overall record of 14-11 and a conference record of 11-7 as they enter the tournament.
• Bradley University finished their regular season with a series sweep against Indiana State. They beat the Sycamores, 86-52 on Friday, Mar. 5, and finished 80-58 on Saturday, Mar. 6.
• With an overall record of 14-11 and a conference record of 10-8, Bradley ranks No. 5 in the conference and the tournament.
•Karli Rucker helped the Panthers speed past the Salukis on Friday Afternoon after scoring 12-points in the third quarter, edging the Panthers to victory. She closed out the regular season at No. 8 on the All-Time Scoring List with 1,370 points, only 35 points away from Lizzie Boeck with 1,405 points.
• Megan Maahs led the Panthers on Saturday, Mar. 6, with a team-high 14 points and recorded four rebounds and three blocks for UNI. She now stands at the No. 17 spot on the All-Time Scoring list with 1,085 points and records 840 rebounds.
• Friday, Mar. 5, The Petree Sisters dominated the court against the Sycamores. Mahri Petree scored 19 points and was one rebound short of a double-double while Lasha Petree recorded 13 points for the Braves.
•On Saturday, Mar. 6, Lasha Petree scored a game-high 28 points and Nyjah White recorded a double-double in the final game of the regular season. White scored 15 points and recorded 14 rebounds.
•Kayba Laube has become one of the many three-point specialists for the Panthers. Laube recorded 12 points, all three-pointers. She went 66.7% from behind the arc on Saturday and made all four three-pointers in the second half.
• Karli Rucker was named MVC first-time Scholar-Athlete. This is her third Scholar team recognition but her first-career first-team honor. Maya McDermott and Emerson Green were named to the MVC All-Freshman Team.
• The two teams are set to play each other at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Ill. and tip-off is at 2 p.m.
