WATERLOO, Iowa  – The UNI tennis team fell, 4-3, in a close rematch against Omaha on Sunday at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.

The Panthers were swept in doubles action, but made a comeback in singles play. Sophomore Emma Carr and senior Valentina Caro put the Purple and Gold on the board with two-set victories. Carr downed Ines Absisan, 6-4, 6-4, on the No. 1 court while Caro defeated Lily Tiemeyer, 6-4, 6-3, on the No. 4 court.

Sophomore Thaissa Moreira went into a three-set thriller against Colby Kelley, taking the first set, 6-4, before dropping the second, 4-6. Bouncing back to clinch the third set, 7-6(3), Moreira posted UNI's third point of the match, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Mavericks' lead.

The Panthers are slated to travel to St. Louis, Mo. to take on Saint Louis on Feb. 26 and Washington University on Feb. 27 before capping the weekend in Edwardsville, Ill. to take on SIU-Edwardsville on Feb. 28.
