UNI Athletics hires Caitlin Opp to lead Panther marketing

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Athletics has hired Caitlin Opp as the assistant athletic director of marketing.
Opp will oversee the department's game day atmosphere operations and marketing efforts. In addition to managing the licensing program, she will coordinate donation requests.
"We're excited to welcome Caitlin as part of the Panther family," said Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Jamar Thompson. "Her background and skills will help advance our marketing efforts in the years to come."
She earned a bachelor of science degree in sport management from Greenville University and her master's of marketing research and public relations from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Prior to UNI, Opp was an athletics marketing associate for SIUE after working as a graduate assistant there. She was the director of SIUE Athletics' social media and the primary marketing contact for men's soccer and men's basketball. She also gained experience with ticket sales and event administration in both roles at SIUE. She has experience at the conference level, having worked for St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and also worked for the Southern Illinois Miners baseball team.
While at SIUE, Opp served on the athletic department's diversity outreach committee, SIUE Cougars as One. Opp is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators and Women Leaders in College Sports.
As an undergrad, she was a member of the Greenville University softball team for four seasons, helping the Panthers to three appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Opp is a native of Pinckneyville, Illinois.
