Panthers Prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Tournament

Cedar Falls, Iowa - UNI Women's Tennis will play in the MVC individual tournament hosted by Valparaiso University, in Valparaiso, Indiana this weekend.

The Panthers will face everyone in the Missouri Valley Conference, including Illinois State, Stony Brook, Drake, Valparaiso, Bradley, and Missouri State. The tournament features seven individual flights of singles competition and three flights of doubles action. Doubles matches will be played in an 8 game format. For singles, the players will play a best of 3 sets, if it is 1-1 in sets, they will play a full third set.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, there was no fall tennis season in 2020-2021, making the last MVC Individual Tournament in 2019-2020, in which senior Olivia Fain and Junior Thaissa Moreira won the doubles flight #3.

The tournament begins on Friday, October 8 at 9:30 am with doubles. Matches will be played at the Valparaiso Tennis Complex. If weather forces play to move indoors during the weekend, the Courts of Northwest Indiana will serve as the alternate site.
