Panthers to Take on Redbirds for Alumni and Fan Appreciation Game

THIS WEEK'S ACTION:
Sunday, October 3rd - Cedar Falls, Iowa
UNI vs. Illinois State - 1 p.m.
THE PANTHERS:
- Sunday's game will be the Panthers Alumni game along with their fan appreciation day. The day before Alumni members of the team will play their own game and have a social to follow. The first 300 fans at the game will receive a bag of free popcorn.Â
- The Panthers were shutout from shots on goal for the second season in a row against the Loyola Ramblers on Saturday afternoon. The Ramblers also kept UNI from getting a shot on goal in their spring contest on March 10th.
- The Panthers moved up the NCAA statistical rankings in fouls per game this week. UNI now ranks 17th in the nation for fouls per game among Division 1 women's soccer teams. Last week the Panthers were at 31st in the nation for fouls per game. - The Panthers will celebrate their new soccer field this week as part of UNI's homecoming festivities. A video focused on the UNI Soccer Field will be released during the week.
THE REDBIRDS:
- The Redbirds are the only team in the MVC with 6 players that have 2 or more goals on the season.
- Redbirds fifth-year senior Ashley Santos broke the program's all-time record for matches started with her 83rd start on September 25th.
-Â The Redbirds won back-to-back contests for the first time this season this week after beating Southern Illinois on September 25th and Missouri State on September 29th in one-goal games.
