Panthers Host Drake for Senior Day

UNI women's basketball hosts Drake for the final game of the regular season. Â The Panthers are 17-11 on the season and 9-8 in Missouri Valley Conference play. UNI is 10-2 in the McLeod Center so far this season.Â
• After the game, the Panthers will celebrate seniors Rose Simon-Ressler, Heidi Hillyard, Abby Gerrits and Kristina Cavey. All four seniors have played in at least 27 of this seasons' 28 games and all four at least 52 points so far this season.Â
• Drake is 22-7 on the year and 14-3 in MVC play. Becca Hittner leads the way with 18.6 points per game and Sara Rhine scores 17.7 points and a team-high 7.9 rebounds. Five total Bulldogs score 8.1 or more points per game. Drake is ranked sixth in the NCAA in points per game at 82.8, sixth in field goal percentage (48.4%) and second in assists per game (21.6). Drake has won seven consecutive games against UNI, including a 104-87 win in the Knapp Center in January.
• UNI closed non-conference play with the most non-conference wins in school history (8), three wins over Power-Five Schools and an undefeated home record. The Panthers defeated No. 20 Iowa 88-66.Â
• Karli Rucker leads UNI at 13.8 points per game. Megan Maahs is second on the team with 9.3 PPG. Bre Gunnels leads with the team with 6.4 rebounds per game and Megan Maahs averages 5.3 RPG.Â
• The Panthers are ranked 12th in the NCAA in free-throw percentage at 77.8%. UNI is also 28th in the NCAA with 8.1 three-pointers made per game.Â
• UNI has played in the postseason in nine of the last 10 seasons, including an appearance in the WNIT in 2019 where the Panthers met Minnesota in the first round.
• UNI played five games against Power-Five Opponents, the most among Missouri Valley Conference teams. The Panthers went 3-2 with wins over Iowa, Iowa State and Missouri.
• Depth has been a theme for the Panthers. Ten UNI players average more than 13.7 minutes of playing time per game. No player averages more than 29.5 minutes per game. Nine players score 4.9 or more points per game and seven players have led UNI in scoring for at least one game.
• With one game to play, the Panthers can finish anywhere from fourth to sixth, but have locked in a first round bye in Hoops in the Heartland.Â
