ST. LOUIS – Junior point guard Karli Rucker was named first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference, the league announced Tuesday.

Rucker earned the honor for the second consecutive season. She led the Panthers with 13.7 points per game, scoring 398 points during the regular season. She also recorded a team-high 106 assists.

She led UNI in scoring 13 times and scored 20 or more points seven times this season. She scored a career-high 28 points in the Jan. 17 win over Evansville and led the Panthers with 25 points in the win over Iowa State.

She became the 25th member of the UNI 1000-point club after scoring 24 points on the road at Loyola.

Rucker was named MVC Second Team All-Academic for the second consecutive season.

The Panthers open hoops in the Heartland Friday at 2:30 p.m. against Illinois State. The Panthers enter the weekend as the fifth seed against the fourth-seeded Redbirds.
