NCAA Individual Rankings and Allocations Released

INDIANAPOLIS – Taylor Lujan is ranked first to lead a group of seven UNI wrestlers who were ranked in the top-25 on the NCAA coaches' individual poll released Thursday. The association also released the conference allocations ahead of the conference championships.
The Big 12 received a total of 54 automatic bids, including eight at 133 and seven at 285.
UNI Ranked Wrestlers
125: Jay Schwarm enters the Big 12 Championship ranked 13th in the NCAA and second among Big 12 wrestlers. Oklahoma State's Nicholas Piccininni is ranked fourth in the country. The conference received four allocations for 125, tied for the lowest among the weight classes.
133: Jack Skudlarczyk is ranked 25h in the NCAA and eighth among Big 12th participants in the toughest field in Tulsa. The weight class takes eight wrestlers to the NCAA championship.
141: Michael Blockhus sits just outside of the top 10 in the NCAA at No. 11. He is the third-highest ranked wrestler among the field at the Big 12 Championship behind No. 5 Dom Demas and No. 9 Ian Parker. The conference received five allocations for the
149: Max Thomsen is ranked eighth overall and second in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma State's Boo Lewallen. There are five allocations available for the conference at 149 and five wrestlers are ranked in the top 14 in the poll.
174: Bryce Steiert is ranked fifth, highest among Big 12 opponents at the championship. He has a 7-1 record against the championship field. There will be five allotments for the Big 12 at 174.
184: Taylor Lujan is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA and leads a field that has three wrestlers in the top 12. The conference earned five allotments at 184. Lujan is indefeated against the field and is on a 15-bout winning streak.
285: The second-toughest weight class in Tulsa will be the heavyweight class. Tate Orndorff from Utah Valley leads the way ranked seventh, but six wrestlers are ranked in the top 17, including Carter Isley at No. 14. He is 4-4 against the field for the season. The heavyweights will send seven to the NCAA Championship.
The Big 12 Championship is set to take place on March 7-8 at the Bok Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
