Panther Women Host Iowa State Tuesday

After a 65-48 win over No. 21 South Dakota State, the Panthers return to the McLeod Center to challenge No. 24 Iowa State Cyclones, Tuesday. The Panthers have won the last two meetings against Cyclones dating back to 2017.
• The No. 24 ranked Cyclones dominated NDSU at the Hilton Coliseum on Saturday afternoon with a score of 85-64
• Iowa State has traveled three times so far this season, losing two of those games to South Dakota State and Iowa. Iowa State has defeated Omaha, TCU, and North Dakota State.
• The Panthers have momentum after defeating No. 21 ranked South Dakota State as they enter the game Tuesday against Iowa State, now with two straight wins under their belt. The Panthers won last year's meeting 71-63 and beat the Cyclones 57-53 in 2017.
• UNI forced a total of 21 turnovers against the Jackrabbits and scored 25 points from those turnovers alone.
• Five Panthers scored from behind the arc, including Karli Rucker with a game-high of 18 points and Megan Maahs who scored 10 points, Emerson Green with eight points, and Cynthia Wolf who also grabbed eight rebounds. Maya McDermott and Nicole Kroeger also found the hoop from behind the arc.
• Iowa State's Ashley Joens was named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 20 Watch List and Big 12 Player of the Week not long after. Against NDSU, Joens scored 24 points and 10 rebounds which marked her 22nd career double-double with the Cyclones. Freshman Lexi Donarski played a big role for the Cyclones as they advanced past NDSU, scoring 25 points, holding seven rebounds, and recording three assists.
• UNI is ranked 24th in three-pointers attempted and three-pointers made in the NCAA. Bre Gunnels is ranked 25th in the NCAA for free throws attempted and 27th for free throws made.
• Karli Rucker advanced to the 17th spot on the UNI All-Time scoring list with 1,094 points. She is two points away from Jessie Biggs' 16th spot on the list.
• Megan Maahs added eight rebounds which brings her career total to 743. She is now tied with Erin Brocka for 6th place in all-time rebounding for the Panthers. Maahs only needs three more rebounds to claim the 4th spot on the list passing Lizzie Boeck in 5th place and Amy Swisher in 4th place.
• UNI is now 3-2 for the season, tied for the lead in the win column. UNI, Bradley and Valparaiso have played five games while Illinois St., Evansville and Loyola are the two teams of the Missouri Valley Conference who have only played two games.
