UNI Women's Basketball Opens Season at Iowa, No Fans Allowed Saturday

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI women's basketball opens the 2020-21 campaign Wednesday against Iowa at 6:30 p.m. before hosting Creighton in a home opener Saturday at 2 p.m.
After reviewing the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNI Athletics will not allow fans for the home game, Saturday. Parents of basketball student-athletes will be allowed to attend. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ or on the radio at 1540 KXEL.
The week is the first of seven non-conference games which include four road games, three home games and two games against Power-Five opponents.
After a strong opening week, the Panthers continue a tough slate. UNI is on the road for games at North Dakota State on Dec. 2 and Wichita State on Dec. 6.
The Panthers will be at home for games against South Dakota State on Dec. 12 in a doubleheader with the men's team hosting Green Bay on the same day. The Panthers close out the home portion of the non-conference schedule against Iowa State on Dec. 15.
UNI closes out the non-conference slate with a return trip to South Dakota State on Dec. 23.
The Missouri Valley Conference is scheduled to begin its league slate on New Year's weekend. The full revised MVC schedule will be released in early December.
Fan attendance will be revisited before the Dec. 12th home doubleheader.
