Panther Tennis Falls to Omaha 5-2

DES MOINES – Kim Zizek aand Madeline Doherty earned singles wins a the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, but UNI tennis fell in a neutral-site, season opening dual in Des Moines Saturday.
Zizek grabbed a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win over Natalie Lorentz at the third spot.
Doherty dropped her opening set, but rallied for the 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 win.
Three other Panthers fell in close battles. Thaissa Moriera lost 6-2, 7-6(7-4), 1-0 (10-6). Valentia Caro dropped her No. 6 match 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 and Emma Carr fell in her No. 2 single match 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.
The Panthers were swept in the doubles point.
UNI is back in action Sunday against Iowa State.
