SPRINGFIELD, Miss. – UNI women's basketball fell on the road to No. 18 Missouri State 80-66.
Karli Rucker scored a team-high 14 points and was 4-4 from the free-throw line. Abby Gerrits followed close behind with 13 points on the game, shooting 50% from the 3-point line. UNI was 21-61 (34.4%) from the field and 12-31 (38.7%) from the three-point line, but gave up 17 turnovers to just seven for Missouri State. The Bears also outrebounded UNI 47-26 leading to nine more shots and 14 more free throw attempts for the game.
Rucker opened the game with a 3-pointer, giving UNI their only lead of the game. Through the first half, the Panthers shot 50% from the three-point line. The Panthers were 100% from the free-throw line through the second half.
The Panthers move to 9-5 on the season, and 1-2 in MVC play while Missouri State is 14-2.
