UNI Softball Defeats Mount Mercy

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa- UNI softball defeats Mount Mercy, 4-2.
Northern Iowa vs. Mount Mercy University | Final Score - W, 4-2
Samantha Heyer started the game for the Panthers. Heyer did not allow a run through the six innings that she pitched. Hannah Kelley, Madison Parks, and Jaclyn Spencer also pitched.
On offense, the Panthers scored four runs on eight hits. Sammey Bunch got the Panther offense going in the fourth inning when she hit a hard line drive to center field. The ball would get through the fielder's legs and Bunch ended up on third base. A couple batters later, Taylor Hogan stole second and on the throw down to second base Sammey Bunch would score.
The other three runs would come on a solo home run by Hannah Kelley in the fifth inning and a two RBI single by Sammy Moss in the sixth.
