Holtz, Long, Heims, Eaton Named Student-Athletes of the Month

Evan Long ran a career-best time of 47.23 in the 400-meter dash. He closed the month ranked first in the 400-meter dash and third in 200-meter dash in the Missouri Valley Conference. He is ranked 66th in the NCAA West Region in the 400. He also led the Panther 4x400-meter dash and 4x100-meter dash to wins. He finished first in the 400 at the Husker Spring Invite and first in the Tom Botts Invite. He took third in the 200 at the Musco Twilight. He is a Movement & Exercise Science: Exercise Science emphasis major with a Coaching minor.
Isaac Holtz had three first-place finishes and seven top-three finishes in the Month of April. He has the top throw in the MVC in the discus and is in the top-10 in the shot put, javelin and hammer throw. He won the hammer and the discus in the Jim Duncan Invite and first in the hammer throw at the Musco Twilight. He is currently 17th in the NCAA West Region in the discus.He is a Movement & Exercise Science major on the Pre-Physical Therapy track with a Biology minor. Holtz is a multi-semester member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List; President's Council Academic Excellence Award.
Jessica Heims set a discus world record (which she then broke in May) for the Para-athlete F64 Classification with a throw of 32.19 (107-0). (New record is 35.52 [116-6] set May 3.) She also has the top 100-meter time of the year in the world in her classification. She is a Biology major; multi-semester member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List
Sydney Eaton competed in two tournaments over the month of April including the 2019 MVC Championship. Averaging a team-best 76.29 strokes per round on the season, Eaton recorded 21 of her 24 rounds in the 70s. Eaton stormed through the MVC Championship with a tie of the lead after the first day. Eaton carded a first round 72 followed by a second round 74 on day one. The final round saw Eaton again finish with a 74 and forced a playoff. She fell in the playoff to finished second and helped the Panthers finish eighth as a team. She is a Biology major with a Chemistry minor; multi-semester member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List.
