Two Panthers Earn NWCA All-American Scholar Honors

MANHEIM, Pennsylvania - The National Wrestling Coaches Association released their Division I Scholar All-American Award winners with UNI's Bryce Steiert and Max Thomsen named to the list.

Both wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2019 with Steiert earning All-American honors with an eighth place finish.

Steiert is a three-time NCAA qualifier and has earned All-Big 12 Academic honors. The Waverly-Shell Rock graduate is majoring in business administration with a 3.18 cumulative grade point average.

Thomson is also a three-time NCAA qualifier and earned All-American honors as a freshman (2017) after placing fifth at 149 pounds. Thomson earned First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2019 majoring in management and organizational leadership and has a 3.27 cumulative grade point average.
