Men's Golf Fall to Bradley 8-4 in Exhibition

DELAND, Florida - The UNI men's golf team fell 8-4 to the Bradley Braves in an exhibition medal match play event on Friday at Black Bear Golf Club.
Unlike regular match play, medal match play allows each golfer to complete all 18 holes with a single point awarded to the golfer with the lowest score, ties receive a half point, and the golfer with the higher score receives no points.
The Panthers won three head to head matchups and earned two ties on the day against a formidable Bradley team. Sophomore Parker Oleson (Armstrong, Iowa) picked up a first round victory with a 71 but dropped the second round after finishing with an 80.
Alex Pries (Chaska, Minnesota) picked up a first round win with a 75 and tied his Bradley opponent with a 79 in the final round. Andrew Wood (Marion, Iowa) also secured a first round victory with a 79 and received a half point tie in the final round with a 79.
The men's golf team will be back in action on March 30-31 when they travel to Peoria, Illinois to participate in the Bradley Spring Invitational. The Bradley University event will be held at Weaver Ridge Golf Course with an 8:15 start.
