UNI enters the MVC tournament as the third seed with a 19-11 record overall and a 12-6 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play. UNI opens Hoops in the Heartland against Southern Illinois on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Karli Rucker is the Panthers' leading scorer at 14.3 PPG. Mikaela Morgan is second on the team at 9.2 points per game. Bre Gunnels leads UNI in the rebounding category at 4.8 RPG. Senior captain Ellie Howell will miss the remainder of the season with an injury.
Southern Illinois is 15-14 on the season and won its last two games, scoring 80 points in each game.
Three Salukis score double figures led by Nicole Martin with 14.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
The Panthers won both matchups of the season with a 65-53 win in Cedar Falls and a 76-67 win in Carbondale.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
