Florman Earns MVC State Farm Good Neighbor Award

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa— UNI swimming and diving's Crystal Florman was named to the MVC State Farm Good Neighbor Winter Awards honorees for the 2018-19 season.
Florman, a senior from Mason City, Iowa, earned the honors from being active in the community. Florman volunteers with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, the Northern Iowa Wish Makers, the Special Olympics, and has spent time with the MLK Day of Service. Florman serves as chapter president for Best Buddies, a program dedicated to inclusion between campus and community members.
Florman is an MVC Scholar-Athlete and earned Scholar All-American honors in 2017-18.
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
