The Panthers continue a three-game road swing with a game 6 p.m. CT Friday at travel partner Drake in Des Moines. The Panthers are coming off the second conference road sweep of the season and are now 5-1 in MVC road games. They face the second-place Bulldogs, who dropped have a seven-game win streak in the series with the Panthers.Â
Karli Rucker leads the way for UNI at 14.1 points per game, and Ellie Howell averages 10.6 PPG. Bre Gunnels leads the Panthers in rebounding with 4.9 RPG.
Friday, UNI faces a Drake team with the two top scorers in the MVC in Becca Hittner (19.8 PPG) and Sara Rhine (19.6 PPG). Rhine also averages 8.5 RPG. The Bulldogs suffered their first conference loss in over two seasons on Feb. 1 against Missouri State.Â
In the first match-up of the season, the Bulldogs held a 56-54 lead after three quarters, but exploded in the fourth and earned an 88-64 win. Four Panthers scored in double figures, but UNI tallied 26 turnovers.Â
Friday's game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
