UNI Women's Basketball Hosts IUPUI

The UNI Panther women look to go undefeated at home in the non-conference for the second consecutive season when they host IUPUI Sunday. The Panthers are 6-3 on the year and 3-0 at home so far this season, including a 22-point win over Iowa. IUPUI is 5-4 on the year and 0-4 on the road. They have close losses to Miami, Butler and Ohio.
• The Panthers dominated from the opening tip, starting the game with an 11-0 run and outscoring Omaha 48-17 in the second half in the Panthers' win over the Mavs. Karli Rucker led with 19 points and three other Panthers scored in double figures.
• The Jaguars are 5-0 in home and neutral games and 0-4 on the road so far this season. IUPUI has wins over Ball State, Southern Illinois, St. John's, Elon and IU Northwest and losses to Miami, Butler, UT Martin and Ohio. IUPUI was ranked in the Mid-Major Top-25, but fell out of the ranking this week. Macee Williams leads the Jaguars with 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
• Kam Finley leads the Panthers with 12.6 points per game. Karli Rucker is second on the team with 11.9 PPG and Megan Maahs is third on the team at 9.9 PPG. Bre Gunnels leads with 5.9 rebounds per game and Maahs is averaging 4.8 RPG.
• UNI returns 2018-19 First-Team All-MVC honoree Karli Rucker and 2017-18 First-Team All-MVF honoree Megan Maahs to court. Maahs returns after missing most of the 2018-19 season with an injury.
• The Panthers are ranked fourth in the NCAA in free-throw percentage at 80.1%. UNI is also 22nd in the NCAA with 8.6 Three-pointers made per game.
• UNI has played in postseason play in nine of the last 10 seasons, including an appearance in the WNIT in 2019 where the Panthers met Minnesota in the first round.
• Karli Rucker is the leading returning scorer at 15.0 points per game for the 2018-19 season.
• UNI plays games against five power- five conference teams, the most in the MVC. The Panthers picked up wins over Mizzou and Iowa in their first two games. After last weekend's meetings, UNI faces Iowa State on Dec. 22.
• Sunday's game is the annual ugly sweater game. Fans are encouraged to join the coaching staff in wearing ugly holiday sweaters.
