
Men's Basketball Defeat Northern Illinois 64-54

DEKALB, Illinois – The UNI men's basketball team took on the Huskies of Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Huskies 64-54.
The Huskies led 3-0 just two minutes into the game but would not hold the lead the rest of the game. After Isaiah Brown hit the Panther's opening points, the Panthers took the lead and never looked back. Headed into halftime with a 40-24 lead, the Panthers were 16-32 from the field while making five first-half three-pointers. Isaiah Brown led the Panthers with 11 points, going 4-5 from the field and 3-3 from beyond the arc. Tywhon Pickford added 6 rebounds and led the team with 3 assists.
The Panther offense was slowed in the second half, shooting .310 from the field and .267 from beyond the three-point arc. The Panthers were outscored in the second half 24-30 but were able to hold off a late surge by the Huskies. The Huskies were able to score off forced turnovers in the second half, recording 3 blocks and 5 steals.
Isaiah Brown finished with one of his best shooting performances of his career, finishing with 17 points in 31 minutes of play. Brown shot 6-8 from the field while going 5-6 from beyond the three-point arc.
AJ Green and Tywhon Pickford added 9 points apiece with Pickford fishing with 6 rebounds. Trae Berhow led the Panthers with 7 rebounds. Three Panthers finished the night with three assists in AJ Green, Austin Phyfe, and Tywhon Pickford.
