Fifth-Ranked UNI Hosts Indiana State

UNI Football returns home after a statement road win against No. 7 Illinois State. The Panthers host an Indiana State team that opened the season ranked before losing starting quarterback and 2018 second-team all-conference honoree Ryan Boyle to a season-ending injury. UNI is 6-3 after winning three consecutive games. The Panthers are also 4-0 at home this season. Indiana State is 3-6 on the season and 1-4 in MVFC play. The game is the 33rd meeting; UNI leads the series 27-5.Â
•The Panthers held No. 7 Illinois State to just 210 total yards and recorded four takeaways en route to the 27-10 win. True freshman Omar Brown tallied two interceptions and a tackle for loss to lead the UNI defense while Suni Lane recorded a pair of touchdowns to lead the UNI offense. The UNI offensive line held the leading sack team in the FCS to zero sacks and just two tackles for loss. Â
• The win over Southern Utah was Head coach Mark Farley's 150th career victory.  He is the winningest coach in UNI and Missouri Valley Football History and the 10th coach in FCS history with 154 FCS victories.Â
• The UNI defense has held its last two opponents to 210 total yards or less. UNI is 11th in the FCS in total defense, 17th in scoring defense, 17th in tackles for loss and 11th in sacks.Â

• Isaiah Weston and Chris Kolarevic are building resumes for comeback player of the year honors. Weston missed all of last season and through nine games sits atop the MVFC in receiving TDs, Receiving yards and yards per catch. Kolarevic has played in just five games, but is already sixth on the team in total tackles and earned a pair of MVFC Player of the Week honors.Â
• The Panthers have earned a Missouri Valley Player of the Week honor after eight of nine games this season. Matthew Cook was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after the Iowa State game and again after Missouri State, McElvain earned Newcomer of the Week honors after the Southern Utah game and Elerson G. Smith was named the Defensive Player of the Week after the Idaho State win and again after the Youngstown State victory. Against Weber State, McElvain earned his second NOFW honor and Chris Kolarevic picked up DPOTW honors and again after the South Dakota game.
