No. 14 Panther Wrestling Travels to No. 21 Northwestern

UNI Wrestling travels No. 21 Northwestern Sunday for the opening Dual of the 2018-19 season. It will be the dual opener for the Panthers while Northwestern is 0-1 after falling to Virginia Tech 21-1 in Blacksburg.
• Jacob Schwarm (125), Max Thomsen (149), Bryce Steiert (174), Taylor Lujan (184) and Jacob Holschlag (197) are all ranked in the top-10 in their weight classes in various polls. Michael Blockus (141) and Carter Isley (285) are ranked in the top-32 in the Track Wrestling Poll.
• Max Thomsen moved up to the No. 3 spot in the Intermat Wrestling Poll after capturing the 149 Harold Nichols title in impressive fashion.
• Six Panthers earned individual titles at the Harold Nichols Open.
• Bryce Steiert and Taylor Lujan both moved up a class to outstanding results on week one. Lujan went 3-0 with two pins to earn the title at 184. Steiert was dominant going 4-0 and outscoring his opponents 50-0.
• A group of other UNI wrestlers, including the six UNI freshmen, will travel to Des Moines for Grand View Open.
• The Panthers' home opener is scheduled for Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. at the West Gym.
