Panther Women's Tennis Closes Day Two at MVC Individual Championship

WATERLOO, IOWA - The UNI women's tennis team continued play at the Missouri Valley Individual Championship Saturday at the Blackhawk Tennis Center.
Thaissa Moreira and Olivia Fain started off the day with a victory against Stony Brook's Pam and Rubio to advance to Sunday's championship match against a team from Illinois State for the doubles third flight title.
In singles action, Olivia Fain dropped her semifinal match to Nolween Cardosos from Stony Brook 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 6-2. She will play Elena Jenkulovska in the third-place match Sunday.
Moreira won her match in the back draw and will play Valparaiso's Isabella Schoolcraft for fifth-place in the fourth flight Sunday.
The final day of competition at the MVC gets underway at 9 a.m. Oct. 6 at the Byrnes Park Tennis with finals of doubles followed by singles.
