Fain Leads Panther Tennis at MVC Championship

WATERLOO, IOWA – Olivia Fain led the way for UNI women's tennis with an individual win in flight seven, she also teamed up with Thaissa Moreira to advance in the third flight of doubles completion Friday in the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Women's Tennis Championship at the Byrnes Park Tennis Center.

In doubles action, Moeria and Fain head to the winner's bracket after defeating Missouri State's Shaw and Meyer 8-4.

In singles action, Sophomore Fain topped Missouri State Alexia Meyer 6-3, 6-3.

The tournament will continue Saturday Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. at the Blackhawk Tennis Club because of rain. Action starts with doubles, followed by singles. The MVC meet concludes Sunday Oct. 6 and is expected to return to the Byrnes Tennis Center.
